TASUS recognized by Indiana INTERNnet

Bloomington, IN– The Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Indiana INTERNnet recognized TASUS Corporation for the company’s excellent intern program. TASUS has been recognized because of the company’s outstanding performance in finding, developing, and hiring interns.


TASUS brought seven representatives to the luncheon from intern supervisors to former and current interns. Attending the luncheon for TASUS was Director of Marketing Jay Brown, Director of Technical Development Robbie Elliott, Maintenance Manager Hank Baugh, as well as past interns and apprentices Casey Marks, Michael Frederick, Shannon Enstrom, and Zoul Ballman.


TASUS Interns:

Over the past year TASUS has brought in two talented interns, which have been offered full-time positions with the company. Intern Michael Frederick is a student at Vincennes University. Frederick is an intern with the technical development department at TASUS and will become a full-time employee upon his graduation in May 2015. Zoul Ballman was an intern while attending Indiana University in 2014. Ballman is now a full-time employee with the marketing department at TASUS’ North America headquarters.

In addition to those interns, Shannon Enstrom was an apprentice at TASUS while attending Ivy Tech Community College. TASUS invested in Enstrom’s education at Ivy Tech and he now holds a full-time position in the tooling and maintenance department.


INTERNnet Impact Awards:

The Indiana INTERNnet Impact Award luncheon hosted a number of businesses from throughout the state which have demonstrated excellent intern programs. The luncheon was sponsored by and hosted at the Ivy Tech Culinary Center in Indianapolis. The luncheon recognized businesses in attendance for their outstanding work with interns.

The luncheon’s keynote speaker was Jennifer Fisher, Culture and Retention Manager at Group Dekko. Fisher gave an inspirational speech on why you should not fear failure, you should learn from it. The luncheon concluded with closing remarks from Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann.

TASUS presents at CTE3 Summit 2015

Bloomington, IN– TASUS recently took part in the first annual Career and Technical Education (CTE3) Summit hosted by the Indiana Region 8 Works Council and Hoosier Hills Career Center. TASUS had a booth set up for students to visit, ask questions, and learn more about career opportunities with the company and in the manufacturing industry. Additionally, TASUS representatives spoke to a crowd of over 300 students on soft skills important to employers. This served as an opportunity for TASUS to connect with the next generation of employees, while also helping to improve their skills and knowledge as they begin to transition from high school.


TASUS was represented by Director of Technical Development Robbie Elliott, Director of Marketing Jay Brown, Marketing Assistant Zoul Ballman, and Engineering Intern Michael Frederick. The diverse group of employees allowed our team to connect with students interested in all different types of careers. It was our goal to show students the benefits of working in manufacturing, while also improving general skills that can be used in any career.

The CTE3 Summit hosted a wide range of companies and post-secondary education officials. The goal was to show students the various career paths they can follow, and that there is no universal path for everyone. Students visited the various company booths, took part in mock interviews, and listened to presentations on various career related topics.

TASUS connects with neighbor Ivy Tech

Bloomington, IN– TASUS continuously looks for ways to encourage and find young adults to join the manufacturing industry to decrease the skilled labor gap. Recently TASUS attended a career fair at Ivy Tech, neighbor to our Bloomington, Indiana plant. The event was filled with promising young professionals seeking careers in various industries.


The career fair served as a way to connect with students and faculty alike. Many students showed interest in joining the TASUS team, leaving resumes and inquiring about applications. Ivy Tech instructors also reached out to better strengthen ties between the college and TASUS. Thanks to this career fair TASUS will be attending a session of student portfolio presentations to critique, judge, and connect with more students. The portfolio presentations will serve as a platform for students to demonstrate the valuable experience and skills they gained during their time at Ivy Tech.
