TASUS Awarded Small Supplier of the Year

Florence, AL- TASUS was awarded 2017’s Small Supplier of the Year award by the Alabama Technology Network and the Business Council of Alabama. The Alabama Manufacturer of the Year Awards gives recognition to individuals and companies that bring uncompromising excellence to Alabama manufacturing.

The award recognizes the manufacturers for their financial growth, manufacturing leadership, market leadership, leadership development, and workforce enhancement.

TASUS was nominated anonymously, and had to answer a series of questions about safety records, attendance percentages, turnover, quality and environmental records. In March, finalists were evaluated during a site visit, which included an interview to verify the information and a plant tour.

TASUS attends 1st Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science Day

Bloomington, IN- On April 22nd, TASUS attended Bloomington High School North’s first Girls in Engineering, Math and Science Day (GEM). The event was open to 5th and 6th grade girls in Monroe County and kicked off with a career expo, students then broke into groups for interactive breakout sessions with different companies.

Kelsey Cooper, Chrystal Miller, and KayLeigh Duerksen helped the girls match different plastic resins to the parts, as well as discussed different career paths related to STEM. Many of the girls eyes lit up when they realized the CEO and President of TASUS is a woman.

TASUS was honored to attend this event, not only to support STEM but, to empower girls to pursue STEM careers. A special thanks to the three ladies that helped represent TASUS at the event!

Employee Feature: Ernest Johnson

Bloomington, IN-Ernest has been with TASUS for 5 years and during that time he has held many different positions as he grows within the company. In his opinion the best part of working at TASUS is the family atmosphere.

In his free time Ernest loves spending time with his family and playing on the TASUS Indiana softball team. He has a 3 month old daughter Mia, and a son, Ernest who will be 4 in August. Pictured above is Ernest with his son wearing matching TASUS softball gear sewn by his wife Samantha.

His favorite movie is IT by Stephen King, he plans on seeing the remake that’s coming to theaters in September. Ernest’s favorite food is Italian, and if he could go anywhere in the world he would travel to Paris. He did not have a favorite band/ musician but, really enjoys rap music.
