Bloomington, IN– TASUS president Melanie Hart has been chosen as the new president of the Japan-America Society of Indiana (JASI). Hart has led TASUS and Tsuchiya Group North America since 1994 when she was named president of the company. During her tenure TASUS has grown from a single facility in Bloomington, IN to five locations throughout North America. Hart previously served as the Executive Vice President of JASI.
The Japan-America Society of Indiana is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to connecting the people of Japan and Indiana. JASI was founded in 1988 as a cultural and educational organization designed to meet the needs of a growing Japanese population in Indiana. JASI hosts a multitude of events for members of the community such as cultural events, networking receptions, business conferences, and public affairs presentations. The organization has grown to over 1200 individual and corporate members since its inception and is recognized as a member of the National Association of Japan-America Societies.
